The storyline inside the film shows this. Chaplin’s tramp falls in appreciate with Merna, who returns his affection. Then, a tightrope walker named Rex (played by Henry Bergman) arrives onto the scene and Merna quickly falls in really like with him. Why? Simply because his act is daring and harmful though Chaplin’s clown act has less prestige.
